Common Questions
What Sisters Often Ask
Is it safe to travel to Morocco as a Muslim woman?
YES. Morocco is widely considered one of the safest destinations for women travelers. The U.S. State Department lists Morocco at the same advisory level as the UK, France, and Italy. Tourism is a cornerstone of the Moroccan economy.
For this retreat: private chauffeured transport between every city (never public transit), hand-selected accommodations with trusted hosts, and group movement through medinas and sacred sites — you are never alone. Fatimah has lived in Morocco; the relationships, drivers, and venues are her own, built over years.
Beyond logistics: the spiritual ease of a Muslim-majority country — adhan five times a day, halal food as the standard, and mosques woven into daily life.
Do I need to have read the book before attending?
Encouraged but not required. A signed copy is included, and we recommend reading it before the retreat. The retreat is designed to deepen and embody what the book teaches.
The investment is significant. Is there a payment plan?
Yes. Standard 3-Pay: 40% non-refundable deposit upon acceptance · 30% by July 15, 2026 · 30% by August 12, 2026. Extended 4-Pay: 25% deposit · 25% by June 17 · 25% by July 15 · 25% by August 12 (available to applicants accepted by June 7, 2026).
What is the group size?
Intentionally intimate — limited to 8 women. This ensures personalized attention, meaningful connection, and the depth of sisterhood this experience requires.
Will there be free time, or is every moment scheduled?
Both. The retreat has a guided structure, but we’ve built in time for personal reflection, rest, exploration, and organic connection. This is not a bootcamp — it is a nurturing, spacious experience.
What if I'm not familiar with "Islamic manifestation"?
The book and retreat are grounded entirely in Qur’an and Sunnah. This is not New Age thinking with Islamic vocabulary — it is a return to what Islam has always taught (du’a, tawakkul, niyyah, shukr) as a practical framework for your life.
Can I bring a friend?
Absolutely. Sisterhood is at the heart of this experience. If you’d like to attend with someone, both of you would go through the application process. The Ukhtain package is designed for this.
Will I have my own room?
Yes — single-occupancy is standard. A limited number of double-occupancy rooms (typically up to two per cohort) are available through the Ukhtain package, first-come, first-served upon acceptance.
Do I need to be Muslim to attend?
This retreat is designed for and centered on the Muslim woman’s experience. Important to know: Moroccan law restricts entry to mosques and zaouias to Muslims. Several anchors of this retreat — Al Quaraouiyine, the Zaouia of Moulay Idriss II, and Jumu’ah prayer at Hassan II Mosque — are core experiences a non-Muslim attendee would not be permitted to enter.
If you are actively exploring Islam, you are welcome to share where you are in your application — Fatimah reads each one personally and will be honest with you about fit.
What should I wear?
Modest dress is both culturally appropriate and comfortable. Loose, breathable layers for warm weather, a scarf or wrap for mosque visits, and comfortable walking shoes for medina excursions. A detailed packing guide is provided upon registration.
Should I bring a swimsuit?
Yes. There will be several opportunities to enjoy the water during the retreat. We recommend bringing modest swimwear, as not all water experiences will be fully private. At one location, for example, the pool is private but outdoors, and we cannot guarantee that staff will not have a view of it. The whirlpool at the masjid hammam, however, is women-only — less modest swimwear is more acceptable there.
What about dietary needs?
All meals are halal — this is Morocco, where that is the standard, not the exception. Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and allergy accommodations are coordinated with each venue upon request.
Can I extend my trip to see more of Morocco?
Yes. Post-trip extension packages are available, whether you want to visit Chefchaouen, Essaouira, the Sahara, or simply linger in Marrakech. We can help you plan additional days on either end of the retreat.
